Our customer had been in the midst of evaluating software packages that would help them achieve this goal. The largest obstacle was managing cash flow. Outer Edge evaluated their strategy and developed a solution that allowed them to acquire, develop/test software and roll it out to users without any investment in hardware! This freed up their cash to acquire the software and personnel they needed to enhance their business performance. Their solution was scaled so that development could be performed and the product evaluated without purchasing hardware that would be outdated and upgraded before they went live. The end result for this customer is that they only paid for what they were using, managed cash, and enjoyed enhanced productivity all on time and within budget.

At Outer Edge, we feel this defeats the key benefits of hosting --- eliminating large capital expenses for the hardware that runs your systems and enjoying the benefits of a custom, affordable IT platform worthy of a Fortune 100 company with fixed monthly costs. This is a vital difference that many customers fail to understand when considering a hosted environment or hosting provider. Our customer in this case continued to get hit with hardware expenses and “surprise” costs because their contract failed to include important components such as SQL to actually run their system. Outer Edge examined these pain points and created the appropriate solution AFTER it understood the customer’s systems, objectives and requirements. With our consultive approach, this customer knew exactly what products were needed . . . all within a sized environment. Since the Outer Edge solution is scalable, they were also able to eliminate the constant concern of a slowing system, or the growth or decline in their business.

Customer Challenge: Wanted to implement new software, but desktops and laptops were not consistent. Customer had a mix of various Operating Systems, installed Software, etc.

In this case, the top requirement for this customer was a limited amount of time to roll out a mandatory software product. Their key challenge was to do this in-house, it would require upgrading each of their desktops and laptops – a costly and time consuming effort. Outer Edge worked with this customer to develop a strategy to meet both needs. Their software package was hosted and rolled out to all employees on time without road blocks. Outer Edge also helped develop a strategic plan for this customer to cost effectively standardize and manage all desktops/laptops so they were positioned for the future. The end result is that the software package was provided – on time – to all employees, without disruption.
